Mina Grime is unlucky, unpopular and uncoordinated, that is until she saves her crushes life on a field trip, changing her High School status from loser to hero overnight. But with her new found fame brings misfortune in the form of an old family curse come to light. For Mina is descended from the Brothers Grimm and has inherited all of their unfinished fairy tale business. Which includes trying to outwit a powerful Story from making her it's next fairytale victim.

To break the fairy tale curse on her family and make these deadly occurrences stop, Mina must finish the tales until the very Grimm end.

For a free book, I must say I was really impressed. I was expecting to read a book with many grammatical errors, and a story that was not very well written.  But I was wrong, the story was well written with very few writing errors, and had a good story line.

When I first read the synopsis I was a little leery about the book, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.  The author did a really good job of weaving a fairy tale that did not seem to be a kid’s book.  I loved the intricate tale that she weaved using the children’s story I grew up with.

I really loved Mina, I enjoyed that she wasn’t perfect.  She was goofy, clumsy, and self-conscious.  I thought she was a really cute character, who learned she had more strength in herself then she thought.  As much as I liked Mina I really couldn’t get myself to like Brody, his character just seemed dull to me, he was almost too perfect.  I think she should go for Jared.  His character was charming and aloof; I couldn’t help but love him.  I really enjoyed this book; I still can’t believe it was a free.  I will definitely buy the next book in the series.
